Description
"Clavecin" is the French word for harpsichord, a keyboard instrument that was popular in the Baroque period. Harpsichord music refers to the pieces composed specifically for this instrument, which was commonly used as a solo instrument or as an accompaniment in Baroque chamber music. Many Baroque composers, including Bach, Handel, and Scarlatti, wrote extensively for the harpsichord. The distinctive sound of the harpsichord, with its plucked strings, has made it a popular instrument in modern performances and recordings of Baroque music.
