Description
Darksynth is a menacing evolution of synthwave that trades nostalgia for horror, fusing heavy synthesizers with aggressive, distorted beats reminiscent of 1980s slasher film soundtracks. The sound channels dystopian cyberpunk atmospheres and occult imagery through pulsing basslines, industrial textures, and relentless drive. It emerged from the synthwave scene as artists pushed toward darker, more intense sonic territories that evoke both retro-futurism and apocalyptic dread.
